Platform · 03 Role Readiness Scoring
Readiness based on skills closed, not hours spent in training.
A readiness score answers one question: how much of the target role's skill requirement has this person demonstrably met? It is weighted, explainable and always framed as input to a human decision.

How it works
Four steps, run continuously.
- 01
Weight the role
Each skill in a target role carries a weight. Core skills count for more than supporting ones, and weights always add up to 100.
- 02
Credit the evidence
Held skills earn their full weight. Skills in progress earn partial credit based on the level reached. Skills with no evidence earn nothing.
- 03
Show the working
The score breaks down skill by skill, with the evidence behind each line, so a manager can see exactly why someone sits at 64 and not 80.
- 04
Project the date
Using the remaining path, Eduserge projects when the person is likely to reach the readiness threshold your organization sets for the role.
What goes in
- Target role with skill weights
- Closed and in-progress skills with evidence
- Readiness threshold per role
- Remaining learning path
What comes out
- Readiness score out of 100
- Line-by-line breakdown per skill
- Projected date to threshold
- Change history over time
Hours do not count
Time spent in training never raises a readiness score. Only evidence of a closed or partly closed skill does. That keeps the score honest.
Thresholds you set
Choose the readiness threshold for each role. A customer-facing lead role may need 85, a specialist step up may need 75. Eduserge does not pick it for you.
A signal, not a verdict
Scores support promotion conversations. They never trigger promotions, rejections or role changes on their own, and the interface says so.
Questions
Role Readiness Scoring, in detail.
Can a manager disagree with a score?
Yes. Managers can add an observation that adjusts a skill's level with a written reason. The change and the reason are both recorded.
Is the score shown to the employee?
That is your choice. Many organizations show learners their gap progress but keep the numeric score to managers and HR.
How often does a score update?
Every time new evidence arrives. There is no weekly batch, so the score a manager sees in a review is current.
